Obscured by Bokeh

Obscured by Bokeh

Someone commented on Rajini Rao  post about a Syd Barrett video http://goo.gl/u2W5l so it popped into my notifications.

I figured it’s time to share some Pink Floyd. Then I thought I should find something obscure. Although I ♥ all things Floyd, Dark Side of the Moon can be shared only so many times. Ditto for The Wall. Then I thought, I haven’t listened to Obscured by Clouds in a long time.

So here is Childhood’s End on Obscured by Clouds. Obscured by Clouds was Pink Floyd’s soundtrack for the French film La Vallée, which is about a woman who goes on a search of a mysterious hidden valley in the bush of New Guinea. The album was released in 1972 and reached number 1 in France, 6 in the UK, and 46 in the US :(. The album cover, which I sadly miss with CDs and DVDs, is a perfect example of Bokeh (intentional blur, out of focus, photography).

Another interesting tidbit, check out the other users of the EMS VCS3 synthesizer, which was used on Obscured by Clouds.

I love this album and I had no idea that it was a soundtrack for a film, French or otherwise. Thanks for the video, Chad. Nice mid afternoon break while writing a paper 🙂

Feisal Kamil can listen to this when he wakes up. Maybe Gnotic Pasta and Bobbi Jo Woods didn’t get notified.

I shared this with my PF circle. Anyone get a notification other than the mention?

What a stunning video of Mudmen. I used to listen on vinyl or tape, so I’ve missed most of the vids.

    This break is getting longer.

Rajini Rao in Latin class we always got a chuckle out of the plural of penalties (poena)

Hmm so maybe something is funny with notifications (such and such shared this directly with you…)

We ought not to pen-alize Feisal Kamil for sleeping. I’m sure he will rise to the occasion upon waking.

I keep telling Kimberly Chapman that I’m not allowed to have children because I’d name my son Epididymis and tell people it’s Greek.

There were discussions a while back about how G+ is not FB so don’t worry about being circled back or uncircled. So most thought that the “uncircler” app was not useful. However, it could be useful to test if there is a glitch. The embarrassing part is if you ping someone and they say it wasn’t a glitch.
