Obscured by Bokeh
Someone commented on Rajini Rao post about a Syd Barrett video http://goo.gl/u2W5l so it popped into my notifications.
I figured it’s time to share some Pink Floyd. Then I thought I should find something obscure. Although I ♥ all things Floyd, Dark Side of the Moon can be shared only so many times. Ditto for The Wall. Then I thought, I haven’t listened to Obscured by Clouds in a long time.
So here is Childhood’s End on Obscured by Clouds. Obscured by Clouds was Pink Floyd’s soundtrack for the French film La Vallée, which is about a woman who goes on a search of a mysterious hidden valley in the bush of New Guinea. The album was released in 1972 and reached number 1 in France, 6 in the UK, and 46 in the US :(. The album cover, which I sadly miss with CDs and DVDs, is a perfect example of Bokeh (intentional blur, out of focus, photography).

Another interesting tidbit, check out the other users of the EMS VCS3 synthesizer, which was used on Obscured by Clouds.

I love this album and I had no idea that it was a soundtrack for a film, French or otherwise. Thanks for the video, Chad. Nice mid afternoon break while writing a paper 🙂
August 28, 2012
I’m listening to Mudmen right now. I forgot how good it is.
Pink Floyd – Mudmen
August 28, 2012
Feisal Kamil can listen to this when he wakes up. Maybe Gnotic Pasta and Bobbi Jo Woods didn’t get notified.
I shared this with my PF circle. Anyone get a notification other than the mention?
August 28, 2012
I just now saw this…
August 28, 2012
What a stunning video of Mudmen. I used to listen on vinyl or tape, so I’ve missed most of the vids.
This break is getting longer.
August 28, 2012
Thanks for sharing, Chad Haney! Adding to my Watch Later list
August 28, 2012
Rajini Rao sorry (I think?)
August 28, 2012
I’m not sorry now, but I may be later 🙂
August 28, 2012
Bobbi Jo Woods add the Mudmen too.
Rajini Rao on _Stay_
We’ll break a bottle of wine
Stick around and maybe we’ll put one down
August 28, 2012
Chad Haney will do.
August 28, 2012
A bottle of wine sounds good right now….
Did you see Kimberly Chapman Pen(is) for Her post?
August 28, 2012
Rajini Rao in Latin class we always got a chuckle out of the plural of penalties (poena)
Hmm so maybe something is funny with notifications (such and such shared this directly with you…)
August 28, 2012
Hehe. Reminds me of our puerile amusement when our school science teacher (who apparently did not own a pocket protector) announced, My pen is leaking.
August 28, 2012
LOL Rajini. I wonder if Feisal is dreaming of pen jokes. Oh, the penalties for sleeping in a different timezone.
August 28, 2012
We ought not to pen-alize Feisal Kamil for sleeping. I’m sure he will rise to the occasion upon waking.
August 28, 2012
OMG, his ears must be burning.
August 28, 2012
When you need another “break” you can look at my uncircle post/video. I’m surprised the other Incorrigibles didn’t comment yet.
August 28, 2012
love it! 🙂
August 28, 2012
Will take a look, Chad Haney . I’m sure it’s seminal stuff. The Incorrigibles make a vas deferens to the comment thread, I agree.
August 28, 2012
I keep telling Kimberly Chapman that I’m not allowed to have children because I’d name my son Epididymis and tell people it’s Greek.
August 28, 2012
It’s intoxicating but no worries if you are too busy to watch the video.
August 28, 2012
I have watched that video. I could never figure out who was having whom on 🙂
I won’t beat around the bush; that’s a fine name!
August 28, 2012
Chad Haney has an unhealthy obsession with that name, bordering on Greek tragedy in and of itself. 😀
August 28, 2012
Vas the difference, Kimberly Chapman ?
August 28, 2012
Ooooo, that one left a mark…come a little closer so I can have a word with you and my pen sword…
August 28, 2012
Pens and magnets don’t go together.
August 28, 2012
Whose pen is sore?
August 28, 2012
The one run over by the Volvo.
August 28, 2012
Hmm, that must have broken the shaft.
August 28, 2012
Now who has a wee too much glee at the violence, Rajini Rao, hm? 😀
August 28, 2012
Touche, Kimberly Chapman . I’m not giving up my swords either.
August 28, 2012
A sword would be quick but stomping boots are another story.
August 28, 2012
A stiletto combines both, Chad Haney .
August 28, 2012
Feisal Kamil must be still working on his first cuppa.
August 28, 2012
I hope it’s not the sharp, pointy things that Feisal Kamil posted about the other day, Gnotic Pasta ? It’s not so nice to keep those in the closet.
August 28, 2012
Ouch.
August 28, 2012
Feisal must be busy enjoying the PF videos. Way to stay on topic Feisal.
August 28, 2012
That’s a different kind of pump action weapon.
August 28, 2012
I can’t divulge all my pointy things, Gnotic Pasta .
August 28, 2012
Leave Epididymis about of this, Chad Haney. That kid’s going to have enough issues as it is.
August 28, 2012
Some people just have dirty minds.
August 28, 2012
What a conundrum, leave him out because he doesn’t exist or talk about him freely because he doesn’t exist?
August 28, 2012
I wonder does Feisal’s mind drift more towards the gutter when he’s sick.
August 28, 2012
Only in abstinentia.
August 28, 2012
It is intoxicating.

There were discussions a while back about how G+ is not FB so don’t worry about being circled back or uncircled. So most thought that the “uncircler” app was not useful. However, it could be useful to test if there is a glitch. The embarrassing part is if you ping someone and they say it wasn’t a glitch.
August 28, 2012
Welcome back Dan and have fun at class. I should probably pack up and go home.
How are you Feisal Kamil ? Eat any solid food?
