Matthiessen State Park
I went hiking with Christian Wietholt and his family along the trails near the Vermilion River in Matthiessen State Park. I decided to try this section as the trail network is smaller than the main area of Matthiessen State Park. That way if Christian’s daughter got tired, we could get back to the car faster. I tried out my Osprey Hydraulics 2L reservoir with my little REI day pack. It worked really well and didn’t feel heavy at all. I mostly used my Panasonic camera but I did take a few photos with my new Moto X Pure edition. I wonder if the main section is more scenic. Maybe Starved Rock State Park is next.
