Crocosmia lucifer blooming
We purchased a potted Crocosmia lucifer a few summers ago. We planted it and the squirrels plus winter crippled it. So I bought some Crocosmia lucifer bulbs. They didn’t do much either. So the third try and after a brutal winter, we have one of the three patches of Crocosmia lucifer blooming. I think they are gorgeous.

Rajini Rao, how is the Crocosmia lucifer we sent you via Eden Brothers?

Thanks Thex Dar. I was pleased to catch the bumble bee in the Hostas. Peter Lindelauf, it’s apparently a hell of a plant to get to bloom.

I think you mentioned your adventure with Moonflowers before, Peter Lindelauf. The phlox that I planted didn’t even break out of the soil. I think they were dead before I put them in the ground.

Lovely midsummer update, Chad Haney . Sadly, the Croscomia were a bust. But the lily bulbs bloomed well. You guys may have sent me the phlox as well, and they look beautiful.

Thanks Rajini Rao. My phox was a bust. It didn’t look good when I pulled it from the bag to begin with. I think I might try to grow them from seeds or buy them from Eden Brothers (assuming we bought them for you).
I was rather pleased to be able to capture the bumble bee in the hosta photos.

Gorgeous..love the faded gentle pink of the coneflowers. It’s like a favorite top I would wear with my old denims (okay, I’m stretching the metaphor 🙂

Thanks. I thought that there wasn’t enough sunlight for the photo but it came out better than expected. It’s my favorite of this set.
