Birds for #valentinesday .
Happy St. Valentine’s Day and happy #FloralFriday . I was busy watching one of our orchids slowly bloom and forgot about the Bird of Paradise. I looked up the other day and say the orange blooms.

Happy day! <3

Thank you Chad Haney. Both are already asleep. Tiring day for both at work and school, respectively. 🙂

Thanks KK. Happy day to you. ♥

Thanks Luis Roca. I can’t remember what was around the house when you visited.

Happy valentines day to you and Mrs Chad 🙂 gorgeous flower, I loved seeing these in Hawaii!
February 14, 2014
sigh ….Gorgeous.
February 14, 2014
OK, that’s really weird seeing a bird of paradise with a snowy backdrop o.O

Thanks Buddhini Samarasinghe and happy valentine’s to you and T. Thanks emmy ellison you are gorgeous too. Oh, you meant the flower. The juxtaposition is throwing you off Cindy Brown?
February 14, 2014
Yeah, I see these plants all the time out here.I don’t think of them being in chicago of all places…and in snow… o.O
February 14, 2014
Cindy Brown, I have a cousin in Redondo Beach, CA and I remember seeing them all over the place. Hawaii and Thailand are even more nonchalant about bird of paradise, orchids, etc.
February 14, 2014
Yep, they’re practically weeds around here.
February 14, 2014
How drought resistant are they?
February 14, 2014
In fact you don’t want them next to your house foundations. They’re best in huge pots. I bet you have to baby yours along?
February 14, 2014
Very drought tolerant.

Lovely pics. Coincidentally was watching actual Birds of Paradise (the birds) in a documentary a few nights ago.

I’m sure Lacerant Plainer and Gita Jaisinghani have amazing flowers all over.

LOL! In small spaces, we have plants and trees outside the window. And lots of crows and pigeons fighting for space 🙂

Bwahahahahah Chad Haney – the only flowers around me are any floral fabrics I may use! I have the most awesome black thumb of any person I know. I’m pretty sure I can’t keep a cactus alive ^_^

I root for the crows…
February 15, 2014
I was guessing the weather there would make it easy.
February 15, 2014
I grew some green chillies once. Named them too… but there’s no real space inside. I may take a pic of a crow and post it 🙂
February 15, 2014
Crows are smart, if you recall my PET post.

Oh weather’s lovely for it…… and many of my friends are very accomplished gardeners. A friend’s even got a fab bonsai collection in his apartment.

Chad Haney – no doubt. And we get an empirical demo outside our living room window of that intelligence every day 🙂
